Developer: Phyx Limited
First release : 22 Mar 2020
App size: 35.59 Mb
We all experience aches, pains, and tension in our bodies, and it is all too easy to develop bad habits when it comes to posture and movement. Whether you have an old injury, a new injury, bad posture, or poor technique, it’s time to Phyx it and achieve optimal health.
Phyx was designed by a physiotherapist and takes self-care to the professional level. Select an area of the body that you’d like to improve, and a prescription containing the following will be generated for you.
THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE PROGRESSIONS
Suitable for all ability levels and designed specifically for each part of the body, Phyx exercise prescriptions start with the often missed fundamentals and build to functional movements, guiding you with video demonstrations and technique cues so you can be confident you’re doing them correctly.
STEP BY STEP POSTURAL IMPROVEMENT
Extensive guides will teach you how to improve all aspects of your posture, from sitting and standing positions to work tasks and sport biomechanics.
SUSTAINABLE RESULTS
We know that following a program consistently can be difficult. Phyx will help you stay on the track to optimal health by giving you regular encouragement and allowing you to track, view, and share your progress. Record journal entries within the app to capture details of your journey that you can look back on to see how far you’ve come.
CLINICAL ADVICE
Phyx is designed to be used independently by anyone, but if you’d like some additional input, you can find nearby clinics or arrange a digital appointment from within the app.
The Next Step in Physiotherapy
The physiotherapy profession is undergoing a change when it comes to the diagnosis and treatment of common conditions like back or knee pain. Clinicians place less emphasis on specific diagnoses, imaging techniques, and hands-on treatments, and focus instead on empowering patients to take an active and holistic approach to their recovery. Health professionals do this by introducing patients to self-treatment techniques like therapeutic exercise, postural correction, and load management. This approach is effective in most patients with most injuries, and is used widely by healthcare providers.
Phyx uses these treatment principles to enable users to independently treat their injuries and reduce injury risk, reduce muscle imbalances, and improve posture and technique with common physical activities.
Follow specifically designed exercise progressions to rehabilitate and strengthen all major parts of the body, while using technique modifications to improve your posture and biomechanics during daily tasks. Consult the FAQs section for education on the topics patients find most important.
Maintaining Optimal Health
Once you have progressed through each exercise and your symptoms have resolved, incorporate the exercises from the ‘Use as needed’ section of the app as a supplement to your preferred physical activity to maintain a lifestyle which optimizes musculoskeletal health. Then, select another body part to improve and keep working to attain a balanced body.
Of course, leading a healthy lifestyle involves more than just physical wellbeing. For more information on health topics such as mental wellbeing and diet, visit our website and subscribe to our newsletter at www.phyxphysio.co.nz.
